pecks apples

gallon sweet cider

teaspoon ground cloves

cups sugar

tablespoons cinnamon
Quarter
and core apples, cooking with cider to soften. Stir often.
Put through sieve and place in an iron kettle or large pot.
Add rest of ingredients and cook over outdoor fire for 3 or
more hours to taste, stirring often. Seal in jars, serving
on favorite bread.
