Mulberry Buckle Coffee Cake

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9 or 10 inch springform pan

Blend in bowl of mixer:
2 Cups all purpose flour
3/4 Cup sugar
2 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
3/4 Teaspoon salt
1/4 Cup shortening
3/4 Cup milk
1 Egg
2 Cups fresh or frozen mulberries (or blueberries)

Beat all ingredients except the mulberries for 30 seconds. Then carefully stir in the mulberries.Spread butter in pan and top with Crumb Topping.

Mix until crumbly:
1/4 Cup sugar

1/6 Cup of flour
1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 Stick of butter, softened

Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove springform and let cool 10 to 15 minutes before drizzling with Glaze.

Glaze:
1/2 Cup powdered sugar
1/4 Teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 to 2 Teaspoon hot water

Cut into wedges and serve warm. Serves 8 to 10.
